Where and When Our 100 yr. GVMC Anniversary Road Ride will take place on Saturday, July 16, 2022. It will start at Trev Deeley Motorcycles, 2nd and Boundary.
Time Kickstands up at 10:00AM sharp.
Sign Up Fee: Hosted by the GVMC
Route The route will be a Ride around the Fraser Valley ending at the GVMC Clubhouse where a Barbecue will be served.
Maps, route sheets, and GPX files for the ride will be provided.
We will break into smaller groups of 4 to 8 riders, each with a Ride Leader.

Event Comments: GVMC 100th Anniversary Open House
One Hundred Years, a Century of continuous operation as a Motorcycle Club. An achievement well worth remembering and celebrating.
The weekend of July 15, 16 and 17 2022 was the celebratory weekend for the GVMC. It all started on Friday evening at the Trev Deeley Exhibition Center, where members of the GVMC and their long-time sister club the Oakland Motorcycle Club OMC met and began the festivities.
The evening started with a cash bar in the Motorcycle Museum, where members who regularly attend, OMC members who rode up to Vancouver for the event, along with many life members who had moved away from the lower mainland returned to rejoin with their friends from the club.
After the cocktail hour passed everyone moved into the Conference Room and Dinner was served and wine was flowing, and everyone had a great time. The entertainment was above and beyond what anyone expected, dancing on the tables even broke out.
The evening was a great success; everyone enjoyed the food which was prepared by Mira’s Catering. She and her team did a superlative job of making sure everyone was well fed.
During the evening, we had a 50/50 draw which raised over $250.00 to the winner, and we had a pop-up auction for a piece of Automobile Memorabilia from the 1940’s, a Fred Deeley Automotive emblem that used to be fixed to the back of new vehicles sold.
The bidding was spirited and ultimately the winner was Gordie Aulenback for a top bid of $450.00 which had been hotly contested by Janine Francks.
Additional bottles of the special blend of red and white wines were purchased by many members as souvenirs to be taken home along with the Motorcycle Mojo magazine, the brochure that Pat and Dwight had made up as well as the key fobs.
A special mention goes out to Wes Jamison for donating the wine for the tables and the additional stainless steel mugs folks purchased at the event, all these funds went to the event.
It was a great evening; old friendships rekindled, new friendships started and many conversations about future rides and events took place.
Our sister club presented a special plaque to the club for the many past years and many futures years of friendship and association and congratulating the Club on reaching 100 Years.
Our President John Fell, handed out many plaques for individuals who have demonstrated commitment and many years of service to the club.
Saturday the 16th was the 100 Year Ride, starting at Trev Deeley in the morning and culminating at the club in the afternoon. Unfortunately the ride captain John Taylor came down with COVID-19 and was unable to attend. Other volunteers stepped up and took over. Jim Brooke, Greg Nicholls and Dave Seifert took the group through the ride, and everyone had a great time. There were 26 bikes in the ride. Afterwards everyone returned to the club house for a great BBQ put on by Bill Talley and all the folks who helped.
Sunday the 17th was the Open House. Many members were at the club house and chatting, some cribbage even broke out, seems like a couple of ladies beat a couple of old guys shamefully. Once again, the BBQ was hot and churning out Burgers and Hotdogs along with Chili and salads. Folks who showed up were chatting with members and moving throughout the clubhouse looking at the displays. This was a great event! The clubhouse finally shutdown around 5:30 that afternoon.
None of this would have been possible without the commitment and effort put forward by the club members who volunteered on the various committees and took it upon themselves to make sure this event was going to be a memorable event to be topped in another hundred years. The OMC attendee Grumpy (James Squires) commented how the OMC was going to have to “up their game” to complete with this fantastic event.
